The story

The Chronicle of Thirteen Months

Prologue

In a little coffee house off a busy Addis Ababa street, there once lived a storyteller everyone called Emama Tsehay — Grandmother Sun.

For sixty years she poured coffee for travelers and told them the stories of her country. Before she retired to the countryside, she wrote everything she knew into a chronicle of thirteen pages — one for each month of the Ethiopian year — and hid the pages around the city for curious travelers to find.

Each hidden card holds one page. Find them, read her words, answer her questions, and by the thirteenth month you will understand why Ethiopians call their home the land of thirteen months of sunshine.
